As per the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), one's Aadhaar card is a valid address proof and in case, there is a change of address, one must do the Aadhaar Card address update on the UIDAI website — uidai.gov.in. The Aadhaar Card address update can be done even when the Aadhaar card holder doesn't have a valid document to prove one's current address. How to get Aadhaar card update check status online

After updating one's Aadhaar Card address or any other details, the Aadhaar Card holder will definitely want Aadhaar card update check status online. One can do this in two ways — with Enrolment ID (EID) or without EID.

Aadhaar card update check status with EID

If you have placed an Aadhaar Card address update request or any other Aadhaar Card update request at an Enrolment Centre or Update Centre, then you will need your 28 digit EID for Aadhaar card update check status online.

Here is the step by step guide on how to get Aadhaar card update check status with EID:

1] Log in at resident.uidai.gov.in/check-aadhaar;

2] Enter your EID followed by captcha or security verification;

3]  If your Aadhaar is ready, you will get a status message on the next screen, saying “Your Aadhaar is generated”. Download or get Aadhaar on your mobile from this screen itself; and

4] If your requested updates are not added to the database then you will not get the above message.

Aadhaar card update check status without EID

If you don’t have EID, you can get it using your registered mobile number or registered email id from the web page — resident.uidai.gov.in/lost-uideid. You can also get your Aadhaar card number from the same web page if you have forgotten it or misplaced it.

Here is the step by step guide on how to get Aadhaar card update check status without EID:

1] Click at resident.uidai.gov.in/check-aadhaar;

2] Enter your full name, mobile number or email id, etc. followed by Captcha code;

3] Click at 'Send OTP' option;

4] OTP will be send on your registered mobile number or email ID;

5] Enter OTP and click at 'Log In' option;

6] You will receive EID or your Aadhaar Card number on your registered mobile number through SMS;

7] Log in again at at resident.uidai.gov.in/check-aadhaar;

8] Enter your EID or Aadhaar Card number followed by captcha or security verification;

9] Your Aadhaar Card update status will be made available on your computer monitor.
