Viswasam box office collection Day 4: Thala Ajith starrer movie sweeps South India - Check what it earned

Viswasam box office collection Day 4: South Indian cinema star Thala Ajith starrer movie has managed to woo cinegoers as it has so far earned Rs 2.78 crore at the end of day 3 in Chennai city, as per trade analyst Ramesh Bala. Viswasam is also giving tough competition of simultaneously released Petta starring Rajinikanth. 

According to IndiaGlitz, the rural entertainer has successfully struck a chord with B and C centers, taking Tamil Nadu Box office by storm. Thala Ajith film has grossed Rs 3.83 crores in the Chennai box office, besides earning Rs 9.6 crores and Rs 6.85 crores in Chengalpattu and Coimbatore, respectively. The Tirunelveli - Kanyakumari zone to has contributed Rs 2.01 crores, the report added. The report said that with the TN box office earning of Rs 42 crores, the worldwide box office collections of Viswasam now stand at Rs 68 crores. 

With the extended 4 day opening which has now been extended to Pongal holidays till the end of this week, the expectations are that Viswasam may become Ajith's highest grosser in Tamil Nadu, surpassing Vedhalam.

Released on January 10, Viswasam is faring well at the Indian as well as international box offices. The movie directed by Siva, is the fourth collaboration between Ajith and the director. 

Through his twitter handle, trade analyst Ramesh Bala said, "For the first time, #Viswasam #Chennai City gross crosses the ₹ 1 Cr mark.. Thanks to the 5 shows/per day during weekend..Sat - ₹ 1.04 Crs. Total 3-days Chennai gross, ₹ 0.88+ ₹ 0.86+₹ 1.04 = ₹ 2.78 Crs"

Viswasam, produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, has featured Ajith and Nayanthara in lead roles along with other stars including Baby Anikha and Jagapati Babu in significant roles. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth starrer and the action-packed Petta has outshone Viswasam outside India.
