UPSC recruitment 2019: The UPSC notification has informed that the government this year has decided to revise the exam pattern and syllabus of Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Exam 2019. Now, the name of the exam has been changed to Combined Geo-Scientist Exam in place of Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination.
UPSC recruitment 2019: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has sought applications from interested candidates for the Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Exam 2019 at its official online application portal - upsconline.nic.in. Aspirants should fill up their applications till 16th April, 2019 (18.00 Hours). According to the UPSC notification, a total of 106 vacancies of Geologist Group A, Geophysicist Group A, Chemist Group A, Junior Hydro Geologists have been notified on March 20, 2019 and the date for online application will close on April 16, 2019, while the examination for the same will be organised on June 28, 2019.
Notably, candidates must the details of UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Exam 2019 prior to submission of their application.

The examination will be held in three tiers comprising Preliminary, Mains, and Personality Test and Interview Round. This revised scheme will be effective from 2020.
Educational Qualification:
Geologist, Group A: Candidates should have Master's degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Geophysical Technology.
Geophysicist, Group A: Candidates should be MSc in Physics or Applied Physics or MSc (Geophysics) or Integrated MSc (Exploration Geophysics) or MSc (Applied Geophysics) or MSc (Marine Geophysics) Or MSc (Tech) (Applied Geophysics).
Chemist Group A: Candidates should be MSc in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist B), Group A: Candidates should hold Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology or Master's degree in Hydrogeology from a recognized University.
Notably, eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate two weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admission certificate will be made available in the UPSC website: www.upsconline.nic.in which can be downloaded by candidates.
