India is witnessing a continuous decline in Covid-19 cases across the country following which several states have started the unlocking process in phases. The Uttar Pradesh government also lifted Covid-imposed lockdown restrictions in all districts except four.

Navneet Sehgal said that active cases of the coronavirus are above 600 in Meerut, Saharanpur and Gorakhpur.

The state government had on Saturday, extended relaxations in the "corona curfew" to Bareilly and Bulandshahr districts from June 7, allowing shops and markets outside the containment zones to open for five days a week.

As per the guideline markets will open from 7am to 7pm on weekdays, while schools, gyms and colleges will remain closed. Home delivery from restaurants will also be permitted.

However, the state government has decided to continue the night curfew and weekend curfew.

The UP government has also said that not more than 5 devotees will be allowed inside a religious place at a time while in wedding functions not more than 25 members are allowed and a maximum of 20 people will be allowed at funeral processions.

The state started the unlocking process on June 1.

According to the data, Uttar Pradesh has reported 1,165 new Covid-19 cases and 101 deaths in last 24 hours. Active cases in the state now stand at 17,928.
