Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel reached Delhi to attend Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony on Sunday.

He will be sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for a historic third time today at 7:15 pm. 

He will equal Jawaharlal Nehru's record of becoming the prime minister of India for the third time after completing two full terms.

Earlier today, PM-elect Narendra Modi signed the visitor's book after laying a wreath at the National War Memorial.

Meanwhile, several Uttar Pradesh and BJP leaders expressed happiness over Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi's re-election for a third consecutive term.

UP Minister Girish Chandra Yadav said India will become Viksit Bharat and self-reliant under Narendra Modi's leadership.

"Narendra Modi will take oath as the Prime Minister today...Under his leadership the nation will develop, India will become Viksit Bharat and self-reliant," Yadav told ANI.UP Minister Yogendra Upadhyaya called the swearing-in ceremony of PM-elect Narendra Modi a " historic moment for India.

"Speaking to ANI, Yogendra Upadhyaya said, "This is a historic moment for India as Narendra Modi is becoming the Prime Minister for the third time...I hope that the entire country will stand with him for the creation of Viksit Bharat."

Meanwhile, UP Minister Jaiveer Singh greeted the people of the country for their approval of the work done by Narendra Modi in past years.

"It is a matter of pride that PM-designate Narendra Modi will take the prime minister's oath. Greetings to the people of the country for their approval of the work done by Narendra Modi," Jaiveer Singh said.

The BJP bagged 240 seats and the National Democratic Alliance has secured 292 seats out of 543 Lok Sabha seats. 

Congress fought the election as part of the INDIA bloc and the parties together were able to prevent BJP from getting a majority on its own in Lok Sabha. 

The Congress secured 99 seats. 

Samajwadi Party got 37 seats, while Trinamool Congress got 29. DMK managed to win 22 seats.
