The New Year 2019, is just a few hours away. Surely, a number of holiday trips must be on your mind, right now. For working professionals, however, going on a vacation is not often easy - not for the want of money alone, but the lack of paid leaves allowed by the companies they work for. Generally, most of the mainstream companies provide up to 2.5 days of PL, or privilege leave ( read paid leave), per month which cumulates over the months. PL is usually used for long vacation plans.
This year, people will celebrate as many as 147 holidays across the states (including the holidays granted by the central government). Two-day off has become a norm in most of the companies and government jobs. So, with careful planning, you can enjoy a number of short holiday trips of three days each. For this, it is important that your weekly two-day off comes either immediately after the public holiday or before. Here are some interesting numbers to give you some cues:
- In 2019, most of the public holidays across the country will fall on Sunday. That means, if your weekly off falls on Sunday, you won't be able to plan the short holiday trip suggested above. But there is no need to feel sorry because as many as 20 holidays will fall on Fridays, allowing you to plan three-day trips.
