Train 18: Indian Railways' gift to devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi - Vande Bharat's trial to begin on Delhi-Katra route

Devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi in national capital will soon get a gift from the Modi government, which has decided to run premium Vande Bharat train on New Delhi-Katra route. The trial run for the country's fastest train will commence soon. The introduction of Vande Bharat, which runs at a speed of 130 km/hour, will also reduce the distance between New Delhi and Katra to merely 8 hours, according to a Zee Business TV report.
Currently, trains running from New Delhi to Katra railiway station takes 10-12 hours, but the proposed train will take merely 8 hours and have stoppages at Ambala, Ludhiana and Jammu Tavi stations, said the report.
According to the Railway Ministry proposal, Vande Bharat will be leaving for New Delhi from Katra station at 6 am, and reach Ambala Junction at 8.10 am where it will have a stoppage of 2 minute. The train will then arrive at Ludhiana station at 9.22 am and stop at the station for only 2 minutes. From Ludhiana, the Vande Bharat will departure at 9.24, to arrive Jammu Tawi station at 12.40 pm, and finally, it reach Katra station at 2 pm. Notably, the train will not stop at Sanehwal station.
On its return journey, Vande Bahart will leave Katra station at 3 pm and reach New Delhi at 11 pm in the night, said the report, adding that the premium train will reach Jammu at 4.18 pm, and reach Ludhiana station at 7.36 pm, Ambala at 20:56 pm. In return journey, the Vande Bharat will stop just 2 minutes at every station.
Indian Railway Ministry has given the green signal to the trial run of Vande Bharat train on Delhi Katra route, said the report, adding that General Manager, Northern Railway, will soon visit Jammu Katra Rail section for inspection.
Jaberal Manager TP Singh will also inspect the railway section from Ambala to Katra, to assess if the the train can run at a speed of 130 kmph or not. Notably, Delhi-Katra route comes within the purview of Northern Railway.

Railway officials believe that Vande Bhavan will be able to achieve the speed of 130 kmph between New Delhi and Ludhiana station.
