Thugs of Hindostan Box Office collection: Bollywood watchers have been waiting for this moment since the mega movie was released and made a record collection of over Rs 52 crore on the opening day. The Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan starrer has brought some much needed cheer to the film industry, collecting a staggering Rs 123 cr to surpass the collections of Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju that had earned Rs 120.06 cr to become the highest opening weekend grosser of 2018.

That this Thugs of Hindostan box office collection is very much valued is clear from the fact that analysts are already writing obituaries for this Aamir Khan starrer, that will fold under Rs 150 cr! What is making them come to this conclusion is the precipitous fall in Thugs collection - it virtually halved from day 2!

The latest release Thugs of Hindostan, which hit 5000 screens last week, opened on a thunderous note at the box office, has reportedly also beaten other movies (opening weekend collections), including Padmaavat (Rs 114 cr), Baaghi 2 (Rs 73.10 cr), Gold (Rs 70.05 cr), Satyameva Jayate (Rs 52.25 cr), Badhaai Ho (Rs 46 cr), Raid (Rs 41.01 cr), Pad Man (Rs 40.05 cr), and Sui Dhaaga (Rs 36.60 cr).

Thugs of Hindostan is the story of a group of rebels fighting the colonial regime of Britishers in year of 1795. The kingdom ruled by a benevolent king (Ronit Roy) is annexed by Clive (Lloyd Owen) through treachery killing both the king and his queen. Amitabh Bachchan as Khudabaksh, who is the king's guardian, manages to escape with the king's daughter Zafira (Fatima Sana Shaikh) and forms a gang which is considered a group thugs. Since the gang wrecks havoc in the lives of the Britishers, Clive summons Aamir Khan (Firangi Malla) to trace the whereabouts of Khudabaksh. This is how plot of the story unfolds.

Currently running in theatres with no competition from other rival movies, Thugs of Hindostan was hyped up to become the highest grossers of all time. However, that is unlikely as at the top sits Baahubali 2 at Rs 510.99 cr and another Aamir starrer, Dangal at Rs 387.38 cr!
