The Lion King box office collection: The latest Disney movie is making moolah at the box office. The Lion King is the second Hollywood film to cross Rs 50 crore in the opening weekend in 2019. Earlier, Avengers: Endgame had set a new benchmark by collecting over Rs 50 crore every single day. Only some Hollywood movies make big mark in Indian theatres.  The Lion King may break many records if consistency in earnings remain intact.

After a collection of Rs 11.06 crore at the box office on the opening day, earnings picked up during the weekends. On Saturday, the earnings rose 73.15 percent over the previous day at Rs 19.15 crore, while on Sunday earnings rose 28.15 percent at Rs 24.54 crore

Film trade analyst and critic in a Twitter post said the year 2019 has been a fantastic year for Disney India. After the success of Captain Marvel in March, Avengers: Endgame in April, and Aladdin in May, now The Lion King is minting money at the box office.

The movie revolves around the story of Simba, a lion and conspiracy by its uncle and others. The movie may enter the Rs 100-crore mark if the collection do not fall this week. How the movie does during the week days that will give clearer pictures how much it is going to earn from theatres.
