Congratulating Kavita and sharing the news, LPU wrote on Facebook, "LPU student placed at a package of 1 crore! Kavita Faman, a final year student of MSc Agriculture (Agronomy), has bagged a package of Rs 1 crore, offered by Monsanto, global leaders in agrochemicals. We feel extremely proud of her achievement and wish for her good fortune."

According to the report published by Times of India on April 4,  Kavita is from Gurdaspur district of Punjab. She will work for Monsanto in Canada on a package of almost 200,000 Canadian dollars. Monsanto has hired Kavita as a production manager for its Manitoba office and she would start working this month.

In India, news of such high-package hirings is reported mostly from top colleges like IITs and IIMs and courses like engineering and management. Kavita's example suggests agriculture could also be a highly rewarding stream of study.
