Teams to assist IOs with the 'e-Pramaan' app
Some investigating officers (IOs) are experiencing difficulties with the app, so they are being accompanied by teams trained in its use, a senior police officer told PTI. These teams will also provide training to their colleagues on the app.
Investigating officers who are not proficient with the "e-Pramaan" mobile app will receive assistance from a designated team. This team will help them use the app to record video or audio evidence, as mandated by the new Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). The app facilitates various procedures, including the registration of FIRs, according to officials.
The BSA, which has replaced the Evidence Act, came into effect alongside two other new criminal laws: the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The BNS and the BNSS have replaced the Indian Penal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure, respectively.
Some investigating officers (IOs) are experiencing difficulties with the app, so they are being accompanied by teams trained in its use, a senior police officer told PTI. These teams will also provide training to their colleagues on the app.
If an IO needs assistance and a team is not available, they can contact a helpline number for support, another police officer mentioned. Additionally, the police will use other mobile apps to understand the differences between the old and new laws.
Over 35,000 Delhi Police personnel have been trained to understand and implement the provisions of the BNS, BNSS, and BSA.
