He captioned it: "Cricket and Films ... the uniting religion of our country @msdhoni."

The 50-year-old actor currently awaits the release of his upcoming film "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior".

Directed by Om Raut, the film is about the battle of Sinhagad in 1670 that was fought between Tanhaji Malusare and Udaybhan Singh Rathod.

It will release on Friday along with actress Deepika Padukone's "Chhapaak".

Talking about Tanhaji, Om Raut told IANS, "I was influenced by this man Tanaji Malusare as a child. I was told about his life by my grandparents. We had a very small chapter in our history book on him. His bravery, selflessness all of which were told to me in the form of stories by my family, attracted me. In 2006-07 I finally decided that I want to make a film on him but then I got busy with other work. In 2015, I started researching on the subject for the film."
