In 27 districts including Chennai, salons, beauty parlours and spas can function from 5pm without air conditioners and with only 50 percent of customers from June 14.
Government parks have also been allowed to be open from 6 am to 9 pm. Taxis, auto-rickshaws allowed to operate.
On Thursday, Chief Minister MK Stalin had held a meeting with health officials and top bureaucrats and experts in public health, who recommended the government to extend the lockdown by another week. The lockdown was supposed to end on June 14.
Tamil Nadu has recorded 16,813 new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday, bringing the state tally to 23,08,838. Out of the cases recorded, Chennai reported 1223 new positive cases, bringing the city’s total to 5,22,052.
