Tamil Nadu, Assam extend lockdown till THESE dates: Check new timings, whats allowed and whats not
Chief Minister M K Stalin chaired a high-level meeting on Friday, June 4 to decide on extending the ongoing Covid-19 induced lockdown in the State.
The Tamil Nadu government has extended the COVID-19 lockdown, but with a few relaxations. The government has extended the lockdown till 6 AM of June 14 with certain relaxations extended to 27 districts.
Chief Minister M K Stalin chaired a high-level meeting on Friday, June 4 to decide on extending the ongoing Covid-19 induced lockdown in the State. Earlier, medical experts had suggested that the lockdown should be extended for one more week.

Groceries, vegetable, and meat shops will be allowed to open from 6 AM to 5 PM from Monday, June 7 in the lesser affected areas of the state.
In a video message released earlier; the Chief Minister had said that lockdown cannot be extended indiscriminately. “We cannot keep extending the lockdown and there has to be a full stop to this soon. It is only in people’s hands. There can be a full stop to the spread of COVID-19 only if restrictions are followed completely,” Stalin said.
The Tamil Nadu government is planning to frame new guidelines for online classes for arts and science colleges and colleges of education to prevent any form of harassment to the students, ToI reports.
Similarly, Assam has also extended the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in the state till June 16.
The Himanta Biswa Sarma government announced on June 4 that the curfew timings in the state have been reduced from 1 PM to 5 AM daily.
