As per an Indian Express report, the train covered the 80 km distance between Mathura and Palwal in 39 minutes with a top speed of 170 km per hour.
In May, Talgo's first phase trials began between Izzatnagar to Bhojipura stations on the Bareilly-Moradabad rail route. The speed of the train at that time was 80-120 km per hour.
Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM), Agra, D K Singh, said, "Prima facie, it seems to be okay. But, the actual results will be known only after examination of various data being recorded during the trial journey.”
Talgo trains are lighter than Indian Railways coaches and also help in saving 30% energy.
