Student of The Year 2 box office collection: Tiger Shroff and Ananya Panday starrer slowed down on Monday. The collections of the film went down in Mumbai, and Delhi/NCR, where it was doing well. The film could manage to earn only Rs 5.52 crore on Monday, which is a 54.23 percent fall from the previous day's earnings. This is a huge fall and it may due to the start of the week when people run for office after spending relaxed time during weekend.
The earnings of the film during the weekend went up. After earning Rs 12.06 crore at the box office on the opening day, the film has collected Rs 14.02 crore and Rs 12.75 crore, respectively, on Saturday and Sunday. So far the move has grossed Rs 44.35 crore in India business.
Its opening day collection is much less than what Tinger Shroff-starrer Baaghi 2, released in 2018, earned (Rs 25.10 cr). However, it is the second highest opener for the actor. On the opening day, Baaghi earned Rs 11.94 crore, Munna Michael earned Rs 6.65 crore, and his debut film Heropanti collected Rs 6.63 crore.
"#StudentOfTheYear2 declines 54.23% on Mon [vis-à-vis Fri]... Slows at plexes of Mumbai, Delhi, NCR [where it was performing best]... Fri 12.06 cr, Sat 14.02 cr, Sun 12.75 cr, Mon 5.52 cr. Total: ₹ 44.35 cr. India biz. #SOTY2," Film trade analyst and critc Taran Adarsh tweeted today.
If the Punit Malhotra directorial film has to reach the Rs 100-crore club, a consistency in earnings is necessary. Ananya Panday, the daughter of Chunky Pandey, has a large fan follower, and that may help the film to back to traction.
The collection in this week will give us clearer idea how it is going to do in future.
