Equity benchmarks on Thursday, October 15, 2020, snapped winning rally of ten sessions amid a massive selloff in global share markets. The BSE 30-share index, Sensex lost 1066 points or 2.61 per cent to settle at 39,728. The NSE Nifty-50 index also fell 291 points or 2.43 per cent to end at 11,680. Nifty: HCL Tech (post-market) F&O: Federal Bank (1 pm – 3 pm) and SRF

Mindtree: IT services firm Mindtree on Thursday reported a 19.1% quarter-on-quarter rise in consolidated profit at Rs 253.7 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2020. It had posted a net profit of Rs 213 crore in the previous quarter. Revenue from operations increased 0.9% to Rs 1,926 crore against Rs 1,909 crore posted in June quarter. The $ revenue grew by 3.2% to $26.1 crore against $ 25.3 crore. EBIT stood at Rs 333.4 crore, down 27% from Rs 262.5 crore posted in the previous quarter. The EBIT margin grew to 17.3% in Q2FY21 against 13,8% posted in Q1FY21. The company has announced an interim dividend of Rs 7.5 per share and fixed October 27, 2020, as its record date. Besides, the Bengaluru-based mid-tier IT firm Mindtree has also said that the company will roll out salary increments for all its employees, effective January 2021.

Amber enterprises/SRF/ Voltas/Blue star: The government on October 15, 2020, banned imports of air conditioners with refrigerants intending to promote domestic manufacturing and cut imports of non-essential items. 

Tata Group in Focus: Tata Sons on Thursday said that they have not received any formal request or proposal from the Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) Group on the matter of the latter's exit announcement. The company also said that as the matter is sub judice before the Supreme Court, Tata Sons will wait for the court proceedings to resume. Tata Son's clarification came after the SP Group on September 22, 2020, issued a press statement stating their desire to separate from the Tata Group after the Supreme Court had restrained the SP Group and Cyrus Mistry from pledging or transferring their shares in Tata Sons Pvt Ltd (TSPL) till October 28, 2020.
