Equity benchmarks came off the day's high in late trade and ended with modest gains on Thursday, December 17, 2020. The S&P BSE Sensex added 223.88 points or 0.48 per cent to 46,890.34. The Nifty 50 index advanced 58 points or 0.42 per cent to 13,740.70. But certain stocks came in news after the market was closed. To Be Available In F&O Segment: Three stocks namely Aarti Industries, Dr. Lal Path Labs and HDFC Asset Management Company will make a debut in F&O (Futures and Options) segment from January 1, 2021. 

Dishman Carbogen: Promoter Adimans Technologies LLP will sell 4.4% stakes (up to 68,98,457 equity shares) of Dishman Carbogen Amcis Ltd through an offer for sale (OFS) on December 18, 2020 (T Day) for non-retail investors only and on December 21, 2020 (T+1 Day) for retail investors and for non-retail investors who choose to carry forward their un-allotted bids. It has also proposed an additional share sale of 4.4% stakes (up to 68,98,457 Equity Shares), under in the event of oversubscription. The OFS price was set at Rs 145.70 per share, a 6% discount to Thursday’s closing price of Rs 154.90. Adimans Technologies LLP, currently, holds 63.2% stakes in Dishman Carbogen.   

Defence Stocks: Defence stocks will be in focus today as the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) headed by Union Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday approved Capital Acquisition of various weapons/ platforms/ equipment/ systems required by the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force at an approximate overall cost of Rs 27,000 crore.

Canara Bank: Life Insurance Corporation of India has acquired 6.28 crore shares through the QIP, taking its total shareholding in the bank to 8.35% from 4.533%.

BPCL: The Board of Directors of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on Thursday approved the merger of Bharat Gas Resources Ltd Limited (a wholly-owned subsidiary of BPCL) with BPCL. Besides, the board also approved the acquisition of 888,613,336 (36.62%) of equity shares in Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd (BORL) from OQ S.A.0.C.(formerly known as Oman Oil Company S.A.O.C). After completion of the acquisition, BPCL will hold 100% stakes in BORL.
