Stock Market Today: On account of positive global cues, the Indian indices opened on the higher side in the opening bell trade session. The BSE Sensex rose 143 points to 35,054 levels while the NSE Nifty gained 39 points to 10, 350 levels. Bank Nifty index went up 191 points to 21,901 levels. Healthcare, metal and telecom shares were among the major gainers in the early morning trade session.

Sepaking on the current market scenario Prakash Pandey, MD & CEO at Plutus Advisors said, "The market is expected to trade sideways in the range of 10,270 to 10,480. But, my advice to the traders is to adopt buy on dips strategy and every dip should be seen as a buying opportunity."

Shares of South Indian Bank, Sun Pharma Advanced, Indian Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Union Bank of India, Indiabulls Real Estate, SREI Infrastructure, Reliance Power and Lakshmi Vilas Bank were among the leding gainers in the opening bell trade session while shares of Elgi Equipments, Bombay Dyeing, Vakrangee, VIP Industries, Persistent Systems and Can Fin Homes were among the leading losers in the early morning trade session.

Metal stocks led the bull run in the early morning trade session as the BSE Metal index rose 1.49 per cent. Metal major Steel Authority of India Ltd or SAIL share price surged 2.73 per cent, Hindustan Zinc shares went up 2.74 per cent, shares of National Aluminium Company or NALCO went up 2.47 per cent, JSW Steel stock price added 2.07 per cent, Jindal Steel & Power stocks scaled up 2.11 per cent while Tata Steel counter added 1.33 per cent.

Among the major Asian indices, the Japanese Nikkei 225 index rose 0.88 per cent, South Korean Kospi added 0.34 per cent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng surged 0.98 per cent while Shanghai index went up 0.17 per cent.

On Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.59%, the S&P 500 gained 0.65% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite added 1.11% to set a record closing high.
