Stock Market Opening Bell Today: Sensex, Nifty rise on Wall Street gains; Vodafone Idea, Tata Steel, Mahindra Logistics shares soar

Stock Market Opening Bell Today: On account of Wall Street gains on Wednesday triggering positive sentiments across global markets, the Indian indices opened in the greeen zone in opening bell today. The BSE Sensex shot up 267 points and touched 38,460 mark while the 50-stocks Nifty went up 71 points and hit 11,349 mark. Bank Nifty index scaled up 244 points and hit 22,511 levels. Metal, telecom and realty stocks were among the major gainers in the opening bell trade session.

Speaking on thge current stock marekt trends; SEBI registered technical stock analyst Simi Bhaumik said, "Overall the market sentiment is bullish. The NSE Nifty has manged to sustain above 11,250 and gained over 70 points in the opening bell today. The broader range of NSE Nifty right now is 11,2560 to 11,450. On the breakage of the upper resistance will mean another 150 points upside rally." Pharma, IT, metal and auto stocks are expected to outperform other sectors in coming trade sessions, said Bhaumik.

Shares of Mahindra Logistics, Dilip Buildcon, Sunteck Realty, Vodafone Idea, Adani Green Energy,Deepak Fertilisers and Ashoka Buildcon were among the leading gainers in the opening bell today while shares of Sadbhav Engineering, AstraZeneca Pharma, MphasiS, Centrum Capital, Ipca Laboratories, Escorts and Apollo Hospitals were among the major lossers in the early morning trade session.

Metal stocks witnessed fresh buying in the opening bell today as the BSE Metal index soared to the tune of near 0.85 per cent. Metal major National Aluminium Company or NALCO share price shot up 2.51 per cent, Jindal Steel & Power shares went up 3.22 per cent, shares of Hindustan Zinc added 1.09 per cent while Vedanta and Tata Steel stocks went up around 0.75 per cent.

In telecom sector, ITI share price soared 3.96 per cent, Sterlite Technologies shares shot up 3 per cent, Vodafone Idea share went northward 1.90 per cent, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd or MTNL share price surged 1.89 per cent while Tata Communications stock price added 1.25 per cent.

Among the major Asian stock markets, the Japanese Nikkei 225 indexshot up 0.61 per cent, South Korean Kospi surged 0.85 per cent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng added 0.09 per cent while Shanghai index went up 0.29 per cent.

At Wall Street yesterday, Dow Jones shot up 1.60 per cent, Nasdaq skyrocketed 2.71 per cent, S&P 500 soared 2.01 per cent while Small Cap 2000 went northward 1.55 per cent.
