Stock Market Closing Bell: Sensex, Nifty end green on sixth straight session; Wipro, Lakshmi Vilas Bank shares soar
Stock Market Closing Bell: The BSE Sensex shot up 303 points and closed at 40,182 mark - regaining the psychological 40,000 mark. The 50-stocks NSE Nifty gained 95 points and closed at 11,834 levels.
Stock Market Closing Bell: On account of strong global cues, the Indian indices closed in the green zone on sixth straight trade session after the closing bell today. The BSE Sensex shot up 303 points and closed at 40,182 mark — regaining the psychological 40,000 mark. The 50-stocks NSE Nifty gained 95 points and closed at 11,834 levels. Bank Nifty index surged 226 points and closed at 23,191 levels. IT, Tech and banking stocks were among the major sectors that fuelled the stock market rally today.
Speaking on the current market trends Sanjiv Bhasin, Director at IIFL Securities said, "The market is highly bullish and we will soon witness 12,000 levels at NSE Nifty. Bank Nifty will also go up to 24,500 mark."

Shares of Lakshmi Vilas Bank, Wipro, Repco Home Finance, MphasiS, Balrampur Chini, Cadila Healthcare, MindTree, Cipla and Biocon were among the leading gainers after the closing bell today while shares of Strides Pharma, Thyrocare Tech, Vedanta, Dr. Lal Pathlabs, Cholamandalam Finance, Metropolis Healthcare, Indian Energy Exchange or IEX, Adani Enterprises and Amber Enterprises were among the major losers after the closing bell trade session.
IT stocks led the bull run throughout the intraday trade session as the BSE IT index shot up to the tune of 2.99 per cent. IT major Wipro share price skyrocketed 7.22 per cent, Larsen & Toubro Infotech shares surged 7.24 per cent, shares of MphasiS went northward 5.97 per cent, MindTree stock price rose 5.29 per cent, TCS stocks rose 3.19 per cent while Infosys share added 2.57 per cent.
At major Asian indices, the Japanese Nikkei 225 index shot up 0.96 per cent, South Korean Kospi went up 0.21 per cent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.20 per cent while Shanghai index also lost 0.20 per cent.
At Wall Street yesterday, Dow Jones skyrocketed 1.91 per cent, Nasdaq soar 1.88 per cent, Small Cap 2000 surged 2.19 per cent while S&P 500 went northward 1.74 per cent.
