State of Aviation! 4 planes tied with ropes at this airfield to prevent stealth attack
Chief Administrator of the Mehsana Nagar Palika, Jigar Patel, said that the planes and offices of Aeronautics Training Centre (ATC) at Mehsana airfield have been sealed, adding that they will take follow-up action if the company fails to pay the tax arrears.
Aviation sector in India never ceases to shock and awe as the system is dragged kicking and screaming into the modern age. However, it does keep slipping back!.It has so transpired that Mehsana Nagar Palika has surprisingly "sealed" 4 planes of an aviation club. The officials took this action on Wednesday, but what has really caused the move to come into the spotlight is that they have kept these planes tied with ropes on the premises of municipal office so that they could not be "taken away", said Dainik Bhaskar report. The crackdown was launched due to the non-payment of tax arrears to the tune of Rs 5.62 crore.
Chief Administrator of the Mehsana Nagar Palika, Jigar Patel, told the newspaper that the planes and offices of Aeronautics Training Centre (ATC) at Mehsana airfield have been sealed, adding that they will take follow-up action if the company fails to pay the tax arrears. The official reportedly added that if in that situation also the tax arrears are not paid then the municipal body may go for auction.
The Mehsana Nagar Palika has reportedly sealed the ATC twice in the past four months. Earlier in July 2018, the training centre was sealed. Significantly, and this is were the rope came into the equation, was that last month, when the office was sealed, the ATC official flew the planes away stealthily!
Notably, all activities at the ATC have come to a standstill in the wake of its office being sealed. This has also affected the practical training of students and other categories of pilots.
