Snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, Kullu Manali weather updates: The higher reaches of Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu and Chamba in Himachal Pradesh received snowfall on October 12. Local residents and tourists posted pictures online to share the videos, images of the fresh snowfall in the region. Fresh snowfall brought down the minimum temperature in the hill state.
Popular tourist destination Shimla recorded a maximum temperature of 9.5 degrees Celsius and after receiving 19.3 mm of rain. The fresh snowfall made hill stations Kaza, Losar and Chicham more picturesque. The Dhauladhar ranges also experienced fresh snowfall.
Hills overlooking the picturesque tourist destinations of Chitkul, a village close to the China border, in Kinnaur district and the majestic Rohtang Pass (13,050 feet), located 52 km from Manali, experienced snowfall.
"High-altitude areas of Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba, Kullu, Kinnaur and Shimla districts have been experiencing light to moderate snow since Monday night, while mid and lower hills getting widespread rain," an official of the Met department said.

Kullu Manali weather updates
Manali experienced overnight rains, pushing the mercury down by several notches. Hoteliers cheered up in the hope of the arrival of winter tourists with the timely onset of snowfall. Manali, which saw a low of 10.4 degree, received 15 mm snow, while Dharamsala saw 81.3 mm of rain, the highest in the state. High-altitude Kullu experienced light to moderate snow.

Kalpa in Kinnaur district, which saw rain, recorded a low of 6.4 degrees Celsius, while the temperature was 3 degrees in Keylong.
The Met department's forecast said that Western disturbances - a storm system originating from the Mediterranean-Caspian Sea region and moving across the Afghanistan-Pakistan region - would start withdrawing Wednesday.
Earlier in Uttarakhand, Badrinath, Kedarnath and the Sikh shrine of Hemkund Sahib received snowfall. The administration on Sunday advised pilgrims not to proceed on their onward journey until the weather improves.
The Gurudwara management committee said up to one feet of snow has accumulated at Hemkund Sahib after two days of continuous snowfall causing a sharp fall in the temperature. The rains also occurred in the lower areas of both Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts.
