According to the IMD, the Southwest Monsoon is forecast to move into further places over the same period, including the South Arabian Sea, the Maldives, the Comorin area, Lakshadweep, Kerala, and different sections of the Bay of Bengal and Northeastern states.

The weather department further informed us that above normal monsoon is likely in the country from June to September 2024. "La-Nina conditions may develop from June to August 2024," said IMD.

People may expect reprieve from the soaring temperatures, as IMD predicts that the existing heatwave to severe heatwave conditions across Northwest and Central India would progressively decline beginning May 30.
