Sensex, Nifty post lowest close in a month

Indian shares closed at their lowest in nearly a month on Tuesday as a slump in European shares offset earlier gains after investors awarded the first US Presidential debate to Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump.
The broader Nifty ended 0.19% lower at 8,706.40 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), after earlier gaining as much as 0.52%.
The benchmark Sensex closed 0.25% lower at 28,223.70 on the BSE.
Both indexes recorded their lowest close since August 29.
