Sensex, Nifty open higher ahead of RBI monetary policy meet

Key Indian equity indices opened higher on Tuesday morning ahead of the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) bi-monthly monetary policy review.
The 30-scrip BSE index, was trading 83.27 points or 0.31% higher during the morning session. At 09:37 hours, the Sensex was trading up 84.32 points, or 0.31%, at 26,861.77 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 26.55 points or 0.32% higher at 8,227.60 points.
At 09:36 hours, the Nifty was trading up 28.60 points, or 0.35%, at 8,229.65 on the NSE.
The Sensex of the BSE, which opened at 26,833.54 points, was trading at 26,860.72 points (at 09.16 am) in the early session, higher 83.27 points or 0.31% from the previous day's close at 26,777.45 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 26,871.18 points and a low of 26,829.53 points in the trade so far.
