India has received six per cent above long-period average (LPA) rainfall from June 1 to September 26, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Uttarakhand
A road connecting Budhakedar and Jhalabeen villages in the Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand was damaged following heavy rains, officials said on Thursday.
District Disaster Management Officer Brijesh Bhatt said that the incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday.

Earlier in the day, a portion of the Badrinath National Highway was blocked due to aggregation of debris near Nandprayag and Chatwapipal.However, the highway was restored for vehicular movement after repair.

IMD has predicted isolated heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand during September 25-27.

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh)
The hill resort of Shimla is currently experiencing heavy rainfall, with a yellow rain warning issued by IMD for the next two days. The incessant downpour has been affecting daily life, making it challenging for both residents and visitors. The rain has severely impacted the districts of Solan, Shimla, and Sirmaur. Shimla city is engulfed in fog.

Meanwhile, The Meteorological Centre in Shimla has predicted light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning. These conditions may cause low visibility, disrupt traffic, and lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas.

The IMD's forecast for Himachal Pradesh states that various districts will experience different levels of rainfall. In Kangra, Chamba, Hamirpur, Mandi, Bilaspur, Solan, and Sirmaur, there will be "few spells of light to moderate rainfall at many places with thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places most likely." The IMD warns that intense rainfall is likely at isolated locations in these districts, which could cause traffic issues and other hazards.

Heavy rain partially affects normal life in West Bengal
Heavy rain partially affected normal life in several places of West Bengal as the Met Office on Thursday forecasted heavy downpours in the sub-Himalayan districts of the state till Friday.
Fairly widespread rain is likely over many places in West Bengal during the next three days and scattered to fairly widespread rain during the subsequent four days, it said in a forecast.

Kolkata recorded 63 mm rainfall in 24 hours till 6.30 am on Thursday, the Met said.

Maharashtra
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Pune in Maharashtra on Thursday was cancelled following heavy rains in the city today.

The MeT department has also issued a warning of heavy showers in Pune and Mumbai for Thursday.

Vehicular and rail traffic in Mumbai resumed on Thursday, a day after heavy rains battered the city, inundating low-lying areas, halting local trains in their tracks, and forcing the diversion of at least 14 incoming flights.

Delhi
The city recorded a minimum temperature of 25.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average. The weather department has predicted a generally cloudy sky, very light to light rain, and thunderstorms with gusty winds during the day.
