School holiday in Bhopal today news: Schools in Bhopal will remain closed today, August 22, Monday, in view of the bad weather. The weather department has predicted light of the heavy rain in the city.
The district administration, as a precautionary measure, has declared holiday for schools on 22 August. News agency ANI quoted the District Education Officer as saying, "All schools to remain closed in Bhopal tomorrow (August 22) in wake of heavy rainfall."

The city and its surrounding areas have been witnessing incessant rain for last 24 hours, prompting the administration to announce school holiday.
The IMD has issued red alert, predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall spells with thunder and lightning over the next 24 hours in Bhopal and adjoining areas. Besides, the department has also predicted heavy rainfall in Gwalior and Ujjain. The red alert forecasts very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall.
"Depression over Central parts Madhya Pradesh and adjoining south Uttar Pradesh near latitude 24.4°N and longitude 78.8°E, about 60 km north of Sagar (Madhya Pradesh).To move west-northwestwards across northwest MP and weaken into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area next 12 hrs," IMD said in a Tweet.
Incessant rainfall in Bhopal has caused a flood like situation.
Meanwhile, neighbouring Rajasthan is also witnessing extreme heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours, triggering flood-like situation in parts of Kota and nearby areas.
Low-lying areas have submerged under water owing to rainfall and water released from the barrage in Kota, news agency PTI reported on Monday morning. The administration declared holiday in government as well as private schools on Monday while coaching institutes are also not operating due to the weather conditions.
Moreover, "the Narmada river is overflowing in Dindori due to incessant rainfall in the area. Police have appealed to the citizens to stay indoors", tweeted ANI.
