Salman Khan has finally got bail after spending 2 nights in Jodhpur jail! Much to his fans and filmmakers joy, the court granted Salman bail and set in motion the process that is likely to see the superstar freed today itself. The chances of Salman spending another night in jail are very remote now. This means he is free to head home and finish all the projects that are hanging fire. Reportedly, over Rs 500 cr projects, films and TV, are in the works and all of them were under threat if the actor was jailed for any length of time. The 5 year jail term announced by the court is extremely serious. If he had received a term under 3 years, he would have posted bail virtually automatically.
With the larger sentence that became very difficult. The actor has to provide a bond of Rs 50,000 and abide by all the points of the order. Salman was sentenced to jail for killing 2 blackbucks some 19 years ago. The process of the case has dragged on for years. The killings happened in Kankani village, Jodhpur in 1998 when Salman Khan and other actors were shooting for the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'. Notably, for Salman, this is the 4th time he has been sent to Jodhpur Jail. In all, he has spent 18 days there - in 1998, 2006 and 2007. To this can be added another 2 days now.
The reason why Salman Khan is sitting on top of Rs 500 cr and more projects is that anything he touches instantly turns to money - lots of it. He has been churning out blockbusters for decades now and even his spell in TV are generating massive amounts of money. Tiger Zinda Hai box office collection was Rs 339 crore in India alone. In short, filmmakers are drawn to him without any effort on his part. Among the many projects that Salman had in hand are the movies Race 3, Bharat, Dabangg 3 and Kick 2. In TV he has been working on Dus Ka Dum.
Race 3 is anything between Rs 100 cr - Rs 200 crore budget film, while Bharat, Dabangg and Kick 2 have been tagged as big-budget films too. Salman has also started shooting for popular quiz show Dus Ka Dum for which he is reprotedly being paid Rs 78 crore for 26 episodes. Salman is also linked to Love Ratri that stars his brother-in-law Ayush Sharma and Time To Dance that stars Isabelle Kaif, actress Katrina Kaif's sister. In all, these projects are adding up to a massive Rs 500 crore figure.
