Big brands like Nokia, Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo offered bumper discount as long as the festive season was on but with end of festive season, prices of smartphones are going up again. After Realme increased the price of products, Xiaomi has taken a similar step.

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has increased the price of its all time affordable smartphone Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, marking the depreciation of Indian Rupee against US Dollar and significant rise in cost of production for smartphones. The price of Mi Powerbank 2i and Mi TV (32" Pro & 49" Pro) has also been adjusted.

Manu Kumar Jain, Global Vice President at Xiaomi and Managing Director of Xiaomi India informed Mi fans on Twitter about the price adjustment:

As for now Redmi 6A (2GB RAM and 16GB ROM) is priced at Rs 6,599 with a addition of Rs 600. However, its variant with 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM is priced at Rs 7,499. Redmi's affordable model Redmi 6 (3GB RAM and 32GB ROM) is priced at Rs 8,499. The price of Mi LED TV 4C Pro 32 and Mi LED TV 4A Pro 49 will be Rs 15,999 and Rs 31,999 respectively with an increased addition of Rs 1000 and Rs 2000 respectively. Mi Powerbank will be available at  Rs 899 with a slight addition of Rs 100 more.
