SS Rajamouli, director of blockbuster two-part Baahubali, is all set to bring another multi-starrer big budget movie - RRR to the Indian cinemas. RRR has already created quite a buzz in the showbiz since it is another period drama, set in the 1920s, after Rajamouli’s blockbuster classic Baahubali. RRR is set in the pre-independence era and will be based on the epic Ramayana, as per sources. The film will star Ram Charan and Jr NTR in lead roles.

Ram' character in the film is expected to be based on Rama and while Jr NTR’s could play Ravana in the film. 

As per reports, Rajamouli's next movie is being made with a whopping budget of Rs 300 crore and the makers are doing everything possible to create a huge set in Hyderabad for the film. International fitness trainer Lloyd Stevens has also been roped in to train the lead actors of this mega project.

RRR will be starring with Jr NTR and Ram Charan but the lead actress of the film is still not finalised. According to some reports, the lead role was offered to Alia Bhatt, but she denied the offer due to her jam-packed schedule. The ace filmmaker, SS Rajamouli had reportedly approached Alia with a huge amount for acting in the film but she denied. 

RRR is being produced by DVV Dhanayya under his banner DVV Entertainments with a massive budget of Rs 300 crore. The movie is expected to be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The film’s director had made an announcement already that RRR will be a Sankaranthi 2020 release.

Massive hits, Baahubali and Baahubali 2 by SS Rajamouli, written by his father KV Vijayendra Prasad, starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamanna Bhatia had a giant budget of Rs 400-450 crore.  

The two movies managed a combined collection of over Rs 1500 crore worldwide, making them the highest earning Indian movies ever. 

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has also joined the cast of SS Rajamouli’s RRR in a guest appearance, as per a PTI report.
