The Royal Enfield has launched the ABS version of the Thunderbird 500X with a price hike of Rs 14,000 over the non-ABS variant. After that, the bike has an ex-showroom price of Rs. 2.13 lakh in Delhi.

The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X packs a dual-channel unit as do other Royal Enfield bikes with the ABS technology. The Thunderbird 500X  has become the most expensive, single-cylinder Royal Enfield bike with ABS in India.

Except the addition of ABS, Thunderbird 500X will run on the same single-cylinder, air-cooled 499cc engine which produces 27.2 of horsepower (hp) at 5,250rpm and a maximum torque of 41.3Nm at 4,000rpm.

The bright color schemes, a flatter handlebar, color-coordinated wheel stripes and the nine-spoke alloy wheels with tubeless tires are some stylistic features which make the Thunderbird 500X different from the standard Thunderbird model.

The non-ABS variant of the Thunderbird 500X is still available in the market but not for long, as of the compulsory ABS regulation that will come into impact from April 1, 2019.
