Indian Railways' online initiative IRCTC is likely to submit an important proposal to Ministry of Railways today, detailing its plan and rules under which it will operate the special Tejas Express trains. In this privatisation effort, if everything goes according to its proposal, IRCTC will soon be accorded the rights to run these trains. The ministry has decided to hand over responsibility of running two trains to the IRCTC on pilot basis, it was revealed to Zee Business Online. Notably, the move is believed to be the first step towards the privatization of the operation of trains.

Further, the report stated that Indian Railways can hand over the responsibility of running Tejas Express to the IRCTC as the first train on Pilot basis. This train will run between New Delhi and Lucknow. A rake of Tejas has also reached the Lucknow division to commence its journey from Lucknow.

Tejas Express schedule

Recently, the Northern Railway announced a new timetable for the operation of its trains. In this timetable, the Tejas Express trains have been scheduled to run between New Delhi railway station and Lucknow. Notably, the entire schedule of these trains has been given in the timetable.
 
Tejas Express schedule for Lucknow

According to the Northern Railway's timetable, Tejas Express will run for five days a week between New Delhi and Lucknow. It will not run on Thursday and Sunday, and will its journey from Lucknow at 6.50 in the morning, reach Kanpur at 8.05 am. From Kanpur, it will start at 8.10 am reach New Delhi Railway station at 1.35 pm.

Return schedule of Tejas Express

On its return journey, Tejas will run from New Delhi Railway station at 3.35 pm, and reach Kanpur at 10.30 pm. After a stoppage of ten minutes at Kanpur, this train will leave for Lucknow and reach there at 10.05 pm. So far, this has not been finalised as to when this train will commence its run. Notably, Tejas Express will run under these numbers - 12585/12586.
