Republic Day 2023: India is all set to celebrate its 74th Republic Day this year on Thursday, January 26. Ahead of the Republic Day 2023 celebrations, the Delhi Police have shared important instructions for people visiting Kartavya Path, earlier Rajpath, to watch Republic Day Parade.
According to the Delhi Police, all visitors will mandatorily have to carry a valid ID card and cooperate with the security check. Also, QR code on tickets or passes will be verified.
Apart from that, the police have shared a list of items that will not be allowed at the event like sharp objects, eatables, bags, coins, cameras, pens, umbrellas, and more, and requested to follow the instructions carefully.

Are mobile phones allowed at the Republic Day Parade?
Mobile phones are not mentioned in the prohibited list shared by Delhi Police for the Republic Day Parade 2023. However, digital diaries, palm-top computers, and i-pad are clearly not allowed.

According to a January 25, 2017, Tweet shared by the Delhi Traffic Police, mobile phone is allowed at the Republic Day Parade. The Delhi Traffic Police had tweeted this while replying to a question asked by a visitor on the microblogging platform.
Republic Day 2023 Parade: Prohibited Items
Here is the complete list of all the prohibited items:
- Please don't bring eatables to the venue.
- Bringing Cigarettes, Biddis, and lighters at the function are prohibited.
- Don't bring bags, briefcases, and pens to the parade venue.
- Electronic items like radio, transistor, tape recorder are strictly prohibited.
- Items like camera, binocular and handycam are also prohibited.
- People visiting the function must not bring electronic gadgets like digital diaries, palm-top computers, I Pad, etc.
- Items like dagger, sword, screw driver, cutting, sharp, pointed or edged materials are strictly prohibited.
- Do not bring remote-controlled car keys and inflammable items to the venue.
- Arms and ammunition, fireworks, crackers, etc. are also prohibited.
- Do not bring items like alcohol, perfume, spray, umbrella, toy gun, etc., to the venue.
- Thermos Flasks, Water Bottles, Cans/Pouch are also prohibited.
- Items like knives, scissors, razors, blades, and wire are strictly prohibited.
- Bringing coins is also prohibited.
