RBI to introduce new Rs 10 note in chocolate brown colour
RBI had introduced the new Rs 200 and Rs 50 notes under the Mahatma Gandhi series in August last year.
RBI is set to launch a new Rs 10 note under Mahatma Gandhi series. The note will have a chocolate brown colour as the base and will sport the picture of the Konark Sun Temple of Odisha.
As per media reports, around one billion pieces of the new note have already been printed by the RBI.
The design of Rs 10 note was last changed in 2005. According to reports, the new design has been approved by the government last week.

The move to reintroduce lower denomination notes in a new design comes after the government’s move to rework the currency mix in order to combat counterfeiting and promote a less-cash economy, reports Livemint.
