Rajnath Singh asks Home Ministry to utilise over Rs 15,000 crore in September
The Ministry of Home Affairs has a total budget allocation of Rs 75,355.48 crore for 2016-17.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has utilised about Rs 23,606.64 crore in the first five months of the financial year. The ministry is further expected to spend about Rs 15,071.09 crore by the end of September.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday in his reviewed of the expenditure made by the Ministry disclosed that about 30% of the budget allocation to it for the financial year had been utilised.
The MHA has utilised about 30% of the budget during April - August 2016. This is out of a total budget allocation of Rs 75,355.48 crore for 2016-17.
The Home Minister has asked the officers to ensure that the budget utilisation increases to 50% by the end of September 2016. This means that about Rs 15,071.09 crore is expected to be spent in September alone.
