Railway Recruitment 2018: Eastern Railways has invited applications for purposes of engagement or training as apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprentice Rules 1992 in Workshops and Divisions of Eastern Railway. Interested candidates must apply for the same at the official website of Eastern Railway. The last date for the submission of application fee is November 14. The vacancies are available at Sealdah, Malda, Howrah, Asansol, Kanchrapara, Liluah, and Jamalpur divisions.

Railways Recruitment 2018: Age limit
Applicants must fall under the age group of 15-24 years as on January 1, 2019. The upper age relaxation is there for the SC/ST candidates which is up to 5 years and 3 years for the OBC candidates and 10 for the years persons with disabilities (PWD) candidates.

Railway Recruitment 2018: Eligibility criteria
Candidates applying for the posts must have passed matriculate with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (excluding additional subject).

Required educational qualification:
The candidate should have qualified class 10th besides having an ITI degree.

Age limit:
The candidate should fall in the age bracket of 15 to 24 years as on January 1, 2019.

Application fee:
General/OBC category: Rs 100
SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates: Nil

On the other hand, a notification by the Central Railway has invited applications for the positions of Senior Residents on its official website: cr.indianrailways.gov.in. Interested candidates will have to face walk-in interview for the said position on October 22, 2018. The notification has clarified that the contract of appointment for Senior Residents will be for one year, and it cannot exceed the maximum period of three years subject to renewals. The termination of contract can be done on one month notice or pay from either side.

The selected candidates will be provided unfurnished accommodation if available, but they will not be allowed to do their private practice. Further, the candidates will also be called upon to perform any additional duties in the interest of Railway Administration including Railway accidents and National programme etc.
