Tuesday is the last day to apply for 5,597 posts in Indian Railways, which opened its doors for the various positions last month.
 
The different offices where these posts are vacant include Central Railway, South Eastern Railway, Northern Railway, Ircon Infrastructure & Services Limited , Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited, North Central Railway (NCR) Allahabad, South Central Railway, Uttarakhand Metro Rail, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and many more.
 
The deadline for filling up application forms is different for various offices. South Eastern Railways is offering second highest posts (about 1,785) among the overall vacancies, after Northern Railways where 3,162 posts are vacant.
 
The deadline to apply for South Eastern Railways was fixed at January 02, 2018.
 
Here's what you need to know before applying.
 
Eligible candidates who have passed SSC examination under 10+2 system or its equivalent or ITI course in relevant trades from a recognized institutes.
 
Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Merit & Medical Examination.
 
A candidate who is between age group of 15 to 24 years, can apply for these jobs.
 
General & other category candidates need to pay application fee of Rs 100/- through Online Debit Card, Credit Card & Net Banking.
 
No fee is to be paid by the candidates from groups like SC, ST, Women and PWD.
