Raid box office collection day 5: Ajay Devgn as tough taxman boosts take to Rs 53.03 cr, but there is a catch
Raid box office collection day 5: Raid collection has been affected by other factors too. The foremost may well be that it released in just about 3400 screens in India and about 369 abroad. That by itself restricts the take. Top actors generally try for a figure nearer the 5000 mark to really give a major boost to the box office collection total.
Raid box office collection day 5: Ajay Devgn and company have been doing very well at the BO over the last few days and this is reflected in the movie's earnings. Starting from a low of Rs 10.04 cr on day 1 to a high of Rs 17.11 crore, this film has been powered to a total of Rs 53.03 crore, according to the latest revelation. But there is a lot more ground to cover to ensure cheer is spread far and wide in the industry in general and the filmmakers concerned in particular. While the objective is to enter the plush Rs 100 crore club, the first priority is to break even and log a bit of profit. For starters, Raid budget has been reported at over Rs 70 crore. So Akshay Kumar still has to ensure this movie climbs to this figure. However, the going is getting increasingly tougher. Till Sunday, raid collection was in double digits. That was great news for the actors. Since then, the collection has fallen into single digits and that too at the lower end of the scale. So, on day 4, which was Monday, Raid collected Rs 6.26 crore and on day 5, which was Tuesday, it managed to earn just Rs 5.76 crore. Clearly, the public is not present in great numbers at theatres and the trend is likely to continue. Unfortunately, for Raid, there is no mid-week holiday and office goers and school children are unlikely to get a chance to head to cinemas.
Raid collection has been affected by other factors too. The foremost may well be that it released in just about 3400 screens in India and about 369 abroad. That by itself restricts the take. Top actors generally try for a figure nearer the 5000 mark to really give a major boost to the box office collection total. In his tweet, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, "#Raid maintains the momentum... Crosses ₹ 50 cr mark... Is eyeing an IMPRESSIVE Week 1 total... Fri 10.04 cr, Sat 13.86 cr, Sun 17.11 cr, Mon 6.26 cr, Tue 5.76 cr. Total: ₹ 53.03 cr. India biz." In his earlier post he had said that Raid collection in opening week would be around Rs 64 crore based on the trends. Fortunately, to Raid revenue can be added anmother Rs 50 crore that it earned from selling the satellite rights.
