Raid box office collection: Ajay Devgn has always been a bankable star. He has not disappointed with his latest release, Raid. The film is about an honest taxman who targets money launderers and seeks to bring justice to them. The result has been a Rs 100 cr movie. To be precise, Raid collection has bagged Rs 100.14 cr in all. To be sure, the film has dragged itself into this exclusive Rs 100 cr club, but the fact is that it had one major movie to fight all the way. That is Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi 2. To a lesser extent, he had to contend with another good movie, which is Rani Mukerji starrer Hichki.

While the former is a Rs 100 cr movie, the latter has collected as much as Rs 38.90 cr. As can be seen, it was not easy, but then again, the same can be said of Devgn's entire career, but the actor has persevered through it all to ensure he retains his superstar branding. In fact, this big achievement happened after managing to earn just Rs 10.04 cr on day 1. Raid has managed to get this far after having been in cinemas for 4th consecutive week. No one expected it to go so far. Clearly, the word of mouth boost has been working for the Bollywood icon. Its performance at the BO can be encapsulated thus: Opening Weekend Rs 41.01 cr, End of Week 1 Rs 63.05 cr, Week 2 Rs 90.11 cr, Week 3 Rs 99.71 cr.

However, unlike Baaghi 2 box office collection, there is not going to be any talk of Raid collection going anywhere near the Rs 150 cr mark, leave alone the Rs 200 cr mark. On current trends, it will bag another few crores before its run comes to an end. Significantly, Devgn has managed to power his movie into this high position even though no controversy was generated. This was unlike Deepika Padukone starrer Padmaavat, which became a success on the back of a big row. While Raj Kumar Gupta was the Director, among the other actors in the movie are Ileana D'Cruz, Saurabh Shukla, Amit Sial, Amit Bimrot, Gayathri among others.
