Raid opening weekend collection was a whopping Rs 41.01 cr and the end of Week 1 earnings were Rs 63.05 cr before they crossed the Rs 90 cr milestone in all of 2 weeks. The best Raid collections came on days 2 and 3 (Saturday and Sunday) when the movie earned as much as Rs 13.86 crore and Rs 17.11 cr respectively.

Raid movie was all about an honest taxman in Lucknow who just could not stand wrongdoing and targetted black money launderers no matter how influential and powerful they may be. The story was timely too as this is the tax season and it clicked with the masses from opening day itself. While Ajay Devgn put in a strong performance like always, others in the movie impressed too especially Saurabh Shukla and Ileana D'Cruz. Others in the star cast included, Rameshwar Singh, Amit Sial, Amit Bimrot, Gayathri, Udayveer Singh, Sheeba Chaddha, Saanand Verma and Sulagna Panigrahi.

The problem for Raid collection is that so far it did not have a big rival to contend with in theatres. But that has changed today. Tiger Shroff starrer has hit theatres today and it is a powerful movie that has racked up 50% occupancy rate in morning shows. It is eyeing a Rs 15 cr in earnings on day 1 now. This is unlikely going to leave much space for Raid collections to be fattened. Still, Ajay Devgn is a fighter and he has been successful in many such tough situations. So, get set to see Raid box office collections to balloon further and perhaps even hit the Rs 100 crore mark. Significantly, what is keeping the BO ticking over is the strong word of mouth boost that the movie is receiving.
