Rae Bareli Election Results Live: The BJP-led NDA led in 295 seats on Tuesday, crossing the majority in trends available for 528 seats, while the Congress also passed the 100-seat milestone in terms of leads, according to Election Commission statistics.

At 10:30 AM, the BJP led in 234 seats and won the uncontested Surat seat in Gujarat.

The Congress-led INDIA alliance was ahead by 200 seats, well above expectations based on exit polls.

The BJP seemed to be suffering significant losses in Uttar Pradesh, where the Samajwadi Party was leading in 33 seats.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has surpassed Sonia Gandhi's 2019 victory margin from the Rae Bareli constituency and is now leading by 3,56,463 votes against his nearest rival Dinesh Pratap Singh of the BJP.

With the votes he's received thus far, BSP candidate Thakur Prasad Yadav appears to be in  third place.

Rahul Gandhi, who contested from Rae Bareli seat for the first time, was ahead of the BJP candidate since the beginning of the counting.

Singh is also a minister in the Yogi Adityanath cabinet.

In 2019, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi won the seat by a margin 1,67,178 votes against Dinesh Pratap Singh.

Rahul represented the Amethi Lok Sabha seat from 2004 to 2019.

In the 2019 general election, he lost the seat to the BJP's Smriti Irani but was elected to the Lok Sabha from Kerala's Wayanad.

Raebareli polling was held on June 20, 2024, as part of the fifth round of the Lok Sabha elections. Apart from Raebareli, Amethi, and Lucknow, the other Uttar Pradesh seats where voting took place were Mohanlalganj, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Jhansi, Banda, Fatehpur, Kaushambhi, Faizabad, Barabanki, Kaiserganj, and Gonda.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Raebareli had a polling percentage of 58.12.
