Race 3 box office collection: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan Eid offering this year is Race 3. The film released today and crucially, it is already profitable! Actor Salman Khan, who has also turned distributor with this film, has sold the theatrical rights across the country, and going by Rs 339 crore business at the BO of his last film, Tiger Zinda Hai, Race 3 has managed impressive distribution numbers, according to a LiveMint report.

“The Race franchise is already huge and Salman stepping in has made it even bigger. The buzz in the trade is extremely positive,” Atul Mohan, editor of trade magazine Complete Cinema, told Mint.
The previous Race instalments were also hits with earnings of Rs 60 crore and Rs 93 crore, respectively, Utpal Acharya, founder of film company Indian Film Studios, reportedly said the franchise has commanded an urban fan following, and added that with Salman Khan coming in, the franchise will have a wider mass base.
The report citing film trade experts said that the Remo D’Souza-directed film, made at a budget of Rs 100-110 crore, has sold its satellite TV and digital media rights for Rs 130 crore to Star India and Amazon Prime Video, respectively. As Amazon Prime struck a deal with the actor in July last year, it has exclusive rights to films made by Salman Khan Ventures, the report added.
The exact value of the deal is reportedly not clear, but trade experts say the agreed price is paid in instalments and Race 3 is likely to have been picked up for Rs 80 crore. On the other hand, Star India has also acquired the satellite rights for Rs 50 crore, the Mint report said.
The film has been released in 4,000-5,000 screens. Apart from BlackBerry and Paytm as brand partners, producers Khan and Tips Films have gone all out with aggressive promotions and digital marketing campaign, added the report.
