Project Cheetah: Even as the countdown for the arrival of Cheetahs in India has begun, ‘Project Cheetah’ is a never before attempt done by any country in the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release cheetahs brought from Namibia in Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park on Saturday. The release coincides with PM Modi’s 72nd birthday. The release of Cheetahs wiill be in Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh.

-- Kuno National Park is in Madhya Pradesh and is spread within the larger Kuno Wildlife Division which has a total area of 1235 sq. km. Kuno National Park is in The Vindhyan Hills Of Central India.
-- The park comprises of forest of Kardhai, Khair and Salai and one can see wildlife by the dozens foraging across vast meadows. Some grasslands here are bigger than most at Kanha or Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve according to the claims as published on the website.
-- This area which has become a National Park today started out as a sanctuary of about 350 sq. kms. It was in the shape of a leaf with Kuno river forming the main centre spine. Kuno river maintains the water supply in the area and is also serves irrigation in the forest from inside out.
-- The project of reintroduction of Asiatic Lions has been ongoing for a while here and one of the preconditions as raised by concerned authorities about the status of this protected area as Sanctuary not being worthy of hosting the lions, was upgraded to National Park while adding another about 400 sq kms to it and it is now 748 sq km of pristine forest area.

Tourists can take a flight to Gwalior which is the nearest Airport to any of the three entrance gates of the Park – Tiktoli, Ahera, Peepal Bawadi. Gwalior, Kota and Jaipur cities have airports among which Jaipur has the best connectivity by flights to various parts of India. Similarly Gwalior, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Jaipur and Jhansi are the nearest stations which provide rail connectivity to Kuno National park.
