The Women's Reservation Bill was cleared by both the houses of Parliament—the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha—in a special session this month.
The bill will now be officially known as the Constitution (106th Amendment) Act.
It will "come into force on such date as the central government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint", according to a notification by the law ministry.
