Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana: PM Modi announces scheme to install rooftop solar systems in 1 crore homes
PM Modi said in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), "I have taken my first decision after returning from Ayodhya that our government will launch 'Pradhan Mantri Suryoday Yojna' with the aim to install rooftop solar systems in one crore houses."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Monday the commencement of the Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana initiative, which will provide rooftop solar systems to one crore families. Alongwith this he asserted that the Ram temple ceremony in Ayodhya strengthened his resolve to have rooftop solar systems at people's houses.
PM Modi said in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), "I have taken my first decision after returning from Ayodhya that our government will launch 'Pradhan Mantri Suryoday Yojna' with the aim to install rooftop solar systems in one crore houses."
He also posted pictures of him discussing the rooftop solar scheme with officials in the capital after his return from Ayodhya where he attended the Ram Temple consecration ceremony.
He stated that devotees across the world always draw energy from the light of "suryavanshi" Lord Ram.
He said that the initiative will not only lower the poor and middle classes' electricity bills, but will also make India self-sufficient in the energy industry.
In the post on X, he wrote, "Today, on the auspicious occasion of consecration in Ayodhya, my resolution got further strengthened that the people of India should have their own solar roof top system on the roof of their houses."

"The first decision I have taken after returning from Ayodhya is that our government will launch 'Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana' with the target of installing rooftop solar on 1 crore houses. This will not only reduce the electricity bill of the poor and middle class, but will also make India self-reliant in the energy sector," he added.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi remarked in Ayodhya — the temple town of Uttar Pradesh — that the Ram temple is a symbol of the country's serenity, patience, harmony, and inclusion.
