PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate Rs 9,600 crore development projects in Gorakhpur, UP today at 1 pm

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gorakhpur in the afternoon. Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the Gorakhpur Fertilizer Plant, whose foundation stone was laid by him on 22nd July, 2016.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also tweeted from his official Twitter handle about his visit to Gorakhpur today, December 7, 2021. He tweeted, "Tomorrow, 7th December is a special day for the development trajectory of Uttar Pradesh, especially Purvanchal. At a programme in Gorakhpur, projects worth Rs 9600 crore would be dedicated to the nation."

In a subsequent tweet, the Prime Minister said, "It makes me very happy that the Gorakhpur Fertiliser Plant will be revived after remaining shut for over 30 years. This plant is important in order to become Aatmanirbhar in urea production. Will also dedicate to the nation the AIIMS Gorakhpur, which will strengthen health infra."

Modi further tweeted, "I will also inaugurate the new building of the ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre. This Centre has played a key role in curing people from Acute Encephalitis Syndrome. The UP Government has made commendable efforts in the last 4 years in this area."

As per the release from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the Gorakhpur Fertilizer Plant, whose foundation stone was laid by him on July 22, 2016.  Lying shut for more than 30 years, it has been revived and built at a cost of around Rs 8600 crore.

Prime Minister will also dedicate to the nation the fully functional complex of AIIMS, Gorakhpur which has been built at a cost of over Rs 1,000 crore. The foundation stone for the complex was laid by the Prime Minister on July 22, 2016.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the new building of ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Gorakhpur. The Centre has been instrumental in tackling the challenge of Japanese encephalitis /Acute Encephalitis Syndrome in the region.

It must be noted that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Uttar P deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya will be present at the event along with PM Modi.
