Petrol pump owners threatens to take Sunday offs from May 10
Last year, in November, All India Petroleum Dealers Association (AIPDA) had launched a pan-India protest after the government failed to increase dealers commission to 5% from the existing rate of 3%.
Petrol pump dealers on Monday threatened the government to keep the fuel outlets gut on every Sunday from May 10 if their demands related to commission hike not met, a media report said.
The petrol pump owners have threatened to observe May 10 as "No purchase day."
Moreover, the petrol pump owners also demanded that they will work only eight hours a day all across the country after one month, as reported by Zee News.
The report quoted Petrol Dealer's Association, stating, "We had withdrawn the strike threat in January after oil marketing companies assured to revise dealer commission rates. But nothing happened in four months.”
