The petrol stations in India can be clubbed into two categories -- automated petrol bunks and non-automated petrol stations. Automated petrol bunks are fewer in number and revise the petrol rate automatically, according to bankbazaar.com. In case of non-automated petrol bunks, the revision is done manually at 06:00 am every day. Dealers are intimated next day’s price by oil marketing companies at 8 pm.

Even as dynamic fuel pricing is beneficial for end petrol consumers and dealers, the daily revision impacts the financial and economic health of any state. Daily price revision ensures 100% fuel pricing transparency.
