Petrol price today: Fuel prices had been soaring since the past few months in the country, burning a hole in commuters’ pockets. International factors and Global crude oil prices are responsible for the increase in prices of petroleum products. Domestic fuel prices in India depend upon the international fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the Indian rupee. Petrol price in Mumbai today is at Rs 78.48 per litre, after a 0.5 paise appreciation from the previous day rate which was Rs 78.43 per litre. Whereas in Delhi the commuters have to pay Rs 72.91 per litre where yesterday's price was 72.86. In Kolkata per litre petrol is priced at Rs 74.93, where yesterday's price was Rs 74.88, However in Chennai, it is for Rs 75.67 per litre rose by 0.5paise then yesterday's price which was Rs 75.62. In Chandigarh, the petrol price is Rs 68.90 per litre appreciated if compared to the previous price which was Rs 68.85 per litre.

Here are the cities where you have to pay less for per litre petrol as compared to other cities:

South Goa: The city is offering the cheapest fuel in the country as compared to other states. It charges 1-litre petrol for Rs 65.99 and yesterday the price was Rs 65.82. It is offering diesel at Rs 65.02 and in Panjim and North Goa the price for petrol is Rs 66.27, where yesterday's price was Rs 66.14 and Diesel at Rs 56.35 per litre.  

Chandigarh: It is offering the second lowest price for petrol in the country at Rs 68.90 and yesterday it was Rs 68.85 per litre. It is offering diesel at Rs 62.96 per litre. 

Ahmedabad (Gujarat): The city is offering petrol at Rs 70.10 per ltr up by 4 paise from previous day rates which were Rs 70.06 per ltr. It is offering diesel at Rs  68.95 per ltr.

Korba (Chhattisgarh): The city is offering petrol per litre at Rs 71.11, up by 3 paise were the previous day rate was Rs 71.08. It is offering diesel per ltr at Rs  69.18 per litre.

Jagatsinghpur (Odisha): The city is offering petrol at Rs 71.30 per ltr low by 26 paise from previous day rates which were Rs 71.56 per ltr. It is offering diesel at Rs 70.31 per ltr.

Lucknow:  It is also offering a low price for petrol in the country at Rs 72.02 per ltr. It is offering the cheapest diesel as compared to other states in the country at Rs 65.05 per ltr. 

Bhubaneswar: The city is offering petrol at Rs 72.05 per ltr up by 5 paise from previous day rates which were Rs 71.67 per ltr. It is offering diesel at Rs 71.07 per ltr.

Noida: The city is offering petrol at Rs 72.22 per ltr, up by 4 paise from the previous day rate which was Rs 72.18 per ltr. It is offering diesel per ltr at Rs 73.67 and the previous day rate was Rs 65.24 per litre.

Gurgaon: The city is offering petrol per litre at Rs 72.72, up by 14 paise were the previous day rate was Rs 72.58. It is offering diesel per ltr at Rs 65.31 and the previous day rate was Rs 65.20 per litre.

 Also, International benchmark Brent futures dropped 23 cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $69.17 a barrel by 0040. On Thursday, they closed 9 cents higher after touching a session high of $70.03, the highest since November 12. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was down 2 cents at $62.08. The contract fell 36 cents in the previous session, having hit $62.99 on Wednesday, its highest since November, according to reuters report.
